How To Add Printer
First we have to have printer and know the model of printer.For example we have printer HP Laser 1200. We want to add it to server.
- Start-->Setting-->Printer and Faxs
- Double click on it(Add Printer)
In this point we have to choose (Local printer attached to this computer) because we have to install new driver printer in our machine. But if we choose the second one (A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer) it means that we want to use printer from another computer through network.
- Select model (HP Laser 1200)
- Click Next
- Fill Printer name
- Click Next
Select (Share Name) if we select (Do not share this printer it means that all client can not access to this printer to print.
This point is optional we can fill or not. So we no need to fill it.
This point if we want to print test or not? So we select No.
Wait until it finish and the new window will open.
So we get new driver model (HP Laser Jet 1200 PLC).
- Right click on it>Properties
- Click (Sharing Tab)
- Select (share this folder) and fill share name
- Click on (Tab Device Settings)
- Printer Auto Select: A4
- Tray 1: A4
- Manual Feed (Tray 1): A4
- Click on (Advanced Tab)
- Click (Printing Default)
- Paper size: A4 (MS Word, Excel…)
- Click OK
Add Printer to server has been finished. After that we have to check on PC (client) whether it has printer or not. To do this goes to:
- Start>Setting>Printer and Faxs
- The new window will open:
Now client machine has no printer yet so we have to drag printer from server in order to print and we do not to install printer on our client machine.
- Click Start >Run>IP of Printer server (203.144.16.33)>OK
- The new window opens below:
- Double click on Printer that server is given (HP laser J)
- Click Yes Button. Then it will create on client automatically.
- It is connecting to Printer server.
Then we have to check on client machine whether it has printer or not.
- Start>Setting>Printers and Faxs
Printer server now has been set on client so client
can print anything using this printer on network.
